Scouts BSA Troop 71 has an active camping program, with multiple campout activities throughout the year. Some of these campouts take place at our very own Camp Kishwaukee in Plano, Illinois! Our troop provides a robust list of camping equipment for every event (tents, cook wear, shelters, etc.), however Scouts need to prepare their personal gear to be successful on these campouts.
The Scouts BSA Handbook provides comprehensive information about camping on pages 256-287 of the current edition. We also offer standardized packing lists below, catered to specific weather expectations. The BSA Fieldbook offers more advanced information on camping on pages 66-75
